Cooper Tire Names New Plant Manager, Texarkana
FINDLAY, OHIO, JUNE 14, 2010 - COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE:CTB) today announced that Scott Cole has been appointed plant manager of the Texarkana, Ark., manufacturing facility. Cole replaces Alex Perry, who is moving to a special assignment on leveraging best practices to become globally competitive.
Cole joined Cooper in 1989 as a co-op and subsequently held several engineering positions of increasing responsibility in truck tire development and plant technical. In 1998, he joined Chrysler LLC, where he held the positions of launch coordinator and process reliability manager. He rejoined Cooper in 2008 as technical manager for the Texarkana Plant, where he was responsible for managing tire development, the die shop, tire testing and product introduction, and played an instrumental role in cured scrap and complexity reduction.
He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, and a master's degree from the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio. He also earned six sigma green belt certification in 2005.
The Texarkana Plant plays an integral role in the Company's overall strategic plan and is accountable for producing high-quality tires at a sustainable, competitive cost position.
