Moving America for over 100 years.

Since 1914, our focus has been on making quality tires that meet the needs of today’s drivers, because to us, manufacturing a quality product is key to ensuring your peace of mind.

A lot has happened since our humble beginnings.

The Cooper name has a proud and storied heritage that goes back more than 100 years. In 1915, brothers-in-law John F. Schaefer and Claude E. Hart expanded their tire repair business and purchased The Giant Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, a large-scale tire rebuilding business.

Tires matter. So do the people who make them.

We are a company of people who genuinely care about each other, and are committed to our company, our customers, and our communities. We believe in our people and in recognizing each other’s contributions. We believe in helping each other succeed. It’s another reason why so many people Go With The Coopers™.

At Cooper, we strive to attract, engage and retain the most talented and high-performing employees, by providing an environment where the most outstanding people in the world feel welcome, respected, and valued for who they are and the work that they do.

We believe there’s power in inclusion. That’s why we embrace our employees’ differences in age, sex, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status and other characteristics that make each of us unique, and we are passionate about helping to raise the level of respect and inclusion in our communities.

What do we do?

We research, innovate, and manufacture tires to offer peace of mind and keep our roads safe.
